Jan Swasthya Sahyog

Jan Swasthya Sahyog (JSS) was established in 2000 by healthcare professionals who chose to work in the forested region of Achanakmar Tiger Reserve in Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh. Its community health programme serves 72 villages in the reserve, while its 150-bed hospital provides care to people from nine adjoining districts of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. JSS trains postgraduate doctors in family medicine and general surgery, as well as BSc nurses and paramedics for operation theatres and laboratories. It also works with the governments of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to strengthen the public health system.
